There's a question that keeps nagging at me (and Sanjeev Sanyal) : why do we still have thousands of professors delivering the same lectures every year? If you think about it, most students learn the most important topics from the same YouTube videos anyway. All of my friends learnt data structures and algorithms from Abdul Bari. It’s not just them, most of us have had that experience—struggling with a concept until we find that one video that explains it perfectly.

This isn't about replacing human teachers but amplifying their reach. A great educator can design a course once, and through AI and the metaverse, that course can teach millions without losing the personal touch. It frees teachers from the repetitive delivery of lectures, allowing them to focus on refining content, engaging with students in more meaningful ways, and dedicating more time to actual research. Could this be the push we need toward advancing knowledge even further? I think so.
